I think most people agree that the Iraq war has been a fiasco, disaster, etc. However, another point of view is to - and this could be very wrong because it gives credit to Bush/Cheney - declare the invasion a victory in terms that we are now establishing a massive embassy ( US Embassy in Iraq ) and huge US presence for the next few decades. This war when broken down this way is really all about oil. If that was not the case, than there would be no reason to create these huge permanent structures. Are we just going to hand over these massive and expensive bases to the Iraqis once they ask for them? No. And therein lies the problem.

I would like to hear any of the current candidates actually say that when we pull out our troops, we are pulling them all out and handing over these massive billion dollar facilities to the Iraqis - which is just crazy. Well, at least have trillions of dollars of oil in Iraq (buy oil stocks now), which may prevent drilling in Alaska..glass half full! Thoughts?
