Practice

I figured since Mitch was nice enough to invite me here as a contributor, I better... well contribute. I see that Coulter has jumped right in with two feet and is even dropping links on us, way to go Coult! I really don't have anything very important to add right now so please stop reading.
Congrats to all the Obama maniacs out there. That was a great win in Iowa. To steal a line from the Rock, Can you smell what Barack is cooking?
It is very interesting how this caucus stuff works. Check out the following: A bit long, but quick http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2008/01/04/iowa/

New Year's Resolution's

Now that I've posted for the first time and am getting a little experience with how this whole thing works I thought I would add an editorial comment on New Year's Resolutions. My parents always encouraged them and I always resisted them. I didn't think they were effective and it always seemed arbitrary to me to only do it Jan. 1.

Apparently I wasn't the only one because the following was posted on StarTribune.com December 28th:

Most people give up on their New Year's goal within three weeks of making it, says psychologist Terry Lyles, who teaches professional athletes how to rewire their brains to become champs. But it takes 23 to 30 days to begin to change a bad habit into a positive ritual or routine, he said. The moral of this story? Hold on. "People give up 6 feet from the goal," Lyles said. "It feels like it's so far away, but the hardest part is the last 5 percent."

That leads me to my resolution for this year. I am resolving to make daily resolutions. It is my intention to spend a few moments each morning and create a plan for what I intend to accomplish that day. It is not as sexy as "losing weight, quitting smoking, etc." but for me I believe it is the best way to make 2008 the best year it can be and to make sure I don't give up 6 feet from the goal.

A good Happy New Year Story

I know most of you already have heard this story but I figured it is a good way to start the New Year. I'm considering Keegan's philosophy of just keep smiling as a possible resolution to have for the coming year. Feel free to post yours if you have any.
